About Convention 2020
The Executive Boards of Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority, Inc. and Delta Epsilon Psi Fraternity, Inc. are extremely proud to present their first national joint convention! Sigma Sigma Rho
Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority, Incorporated is a historically South Asian based sorority. Founded on December 10, 1998 by ten Distinguished Ladies at St. John’s University in New York, Sigma Sigma Rho was the first sorority of its kind to be established on the East Coast. The name Sigma Sigma Rho was chosen for this organization because it substantially upholds our motives and goals, which are expressed in Sisterhood, Society, and Remembrance. Sigma Sigma Rho embodies unity amongst women of South Asian descent, strives to serve society on a small and large scale, and holds fast in instilling a sense of pride in the background of each individual sister.
Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority, Inc. provides service within the South Asian community on campus, while promoting and enriching the appreciation of the morals and pillars that the organization is founded on. We develop women of strength and leadership through active participation within our respective communities, and through it, strengthen those traits of conduct, thought, and idealism which characterize the responsible members of this organization. Our goal is to provide a meaningful and worthwhile academic and social experience for all engaged in collegiate work, and to cooperate with other organizations and societies in every manner consistent with our mutual purposes and those of the institutions at which chapters are located
Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority, Inc.’s national philanthropy is Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention. Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority, Inc. believes in the importance of cooperating with service organizations that strive for similar goals. Sigma Sigma Rho Sorority, Inc. volunteers in many different ways to give back to the community. One of which is through hosting Sigma for Society Week- active Colonies and Chapters host a weeklong dedication of events and fundraising solely for the national philanthropy. The active establishments must host at least one event for five consecutive days. Each active establishment must host Sigma for Society in the month of October, the philanthropy month for domestic violence awareness, and may host Sigma for Society in the spring and/or summer semesters as well.

Delta Epsilon Psi
Delta Epsilon Psi National South Asian Interest Fraternity, Inc. was founded on October 1st, 1998 at the University of Texas at Austin. Eighteen men came together sensing the urgency of a unified South Asian voice at their university. They believed there was a lack of South Asian presence not only in the Greek community, but also at their university and their local community. With this in mind, they founded the fraternity on three pillars: Brotherhood, Discipline, and Commitment. The founders believe that by establishing this organization they would be able to break away from traditional South Asian stereotypes and give back to the community through their service and social based endeavors.
Since its founding in 1998, Delta Epsilon Psi has become the largest and fastest growing fraternity of its kind.
"We the Brothers of Delta Epsilon Psi vow to be a fraternity whose primary purpose is to instill Brotherhood, Discipline, and Commitment within its members through various social and service driven endeavors.
Delta Epsilon Psi prides itself as an organization that puts service first with its rich tradition of outstanding philanthropic efforts. Delta Epsilon Psi has established research towards finding a cure for Juvenile Diabetes (Type 1) and supporting the National Bone Marrow Donor Program as its primary National Philanthropies. Its efforts are geared towards the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and the Be The Match Foundation to promote its goals. The organization encourages its brothers to actively engage the community and promote the awareness and education of Type-1 Diabetes. Through these efforts, chapters of Delta Epsilon Psi around the nation have been able to create various events, such as "Sugar Free Bowl", "Dodging Diabetes," "Stroll for a Cause", and many more. Due to these outstanding efforts, the organization became the first fraternity to have an official partnership with JDRF. Recently, Delta Epsilon Psi has also officially partnered with the Be the Match Foundation, after serving the organization for so many years through conducting donor registry drives and informational sessions across numerous chapters.
